Qajaasaarneq... Like Rolling a Kayak
Welcome to the Qajaasaarneq interactive information database.  It provides and easy way to learn and keep track of the different Greenland rope gymnastic moves as well as help you develop your own excercise routine.

QajaasaarneqThere are 26 Qajaasaarneq moves done in competition on the low ropes, each with a Greenlandic name.  Every maneuver has either two or four individually scored variations of left and right and/or backward and forward.  Thirty points is the minimum qualifying score at the Greenland National Championships.  When competing, the order the moves are done in is up to the individual, and one can attempt as many or as few as desired.  it is usually best to do do  your hardest ones first and save your easy ones for last when you are tired.

Our Qajaasaarneq moves database contains the Greenlandic name, phoenetic pronunciation, chronological number on a judge's scoresheet, point value, spoken word audio, and pictorial diagram of the starting position of each move.

To use this feature of the website you will need to register and login.

By using this database you can:

  • See a picture diagram of the starting position of any move.
  • Learn how to say the names in Greenlandic by entering a name, number, or picture.
  • Check the competition point values and permissible variations.
  • Generate your own customezed list of moves either by picture or name in the order of your choice.  This is a good way to practice your routine. When you learn more moves or want to rearrange the order, you can print out a new list.
  • Have the point total of any list automatically calculated.
